When Acacia & Sarah realised the opportunity to increase Signarama Surry Hills production & manufacturing capabilities by acquiring Signarama Wollongong in the high growth area of the Illawarra it was a decision that needed to be further explored. When their long-term employee James Patterson and his wife Erin agreed to go into a partnership it became a decision that made perfect sense. With nearly 50 years signage experience between all parties and building on the strengths already existing amongst the two locations, the move will mean we can service our customers better than ever.
Signarama Wollongong has been providing business signage to the Illawarra & Shoalhaven area for over 15 years. Both locations achieve sales which place them as the top performing franchisees in NSW, ranked top ten in Australia & in the top 20 Internationally. With 18 staff in total, the move will now make them one of the largest in the entire Signarama franchise network and the Australian signage industry.
Signarama Surry Hills has an impressive customer base with large clients such as The Salvation Army, RAMS’s Home Loans & Enterprise Rent a Car . Signarama Wollongong ‘s businesses include the Illawarra Hawks, NSW State Emergency Service, Illawarra Retirement Trust and is also the main supplier to the localised Coal Industry. This amalgamation will only strengthen our ability to provide signage solutions to our existing customers whilst increasing our ability to hit new markets.
With our new purchasing ability, we are very excited to announce that we’ll shortly be investing in some of the latest signage technologies & equipment, therefore, bringing more value-added signage solutions to our customers.

10 Years ago The Salvation Army Territitorial Headquarters in Sydney came to us with a vision, to have consistent corporate branding. 10 years later together we have achieved that goal across NSW, QLD & ACT.
The Salvation Army is made up of family stores, churches, head-offices & community minded centres and are located in nearly ever town across Australia. Virtually each of the Eastern seaboard locations over the last 10 years has had a make-over.
Each location sent through a request to the Salvos head-office, Signarama Surry Hills then liased directly with them sending art-proofs matching the branding guidelines we developed together. From there the signs would be manufactured at Surry Hills and sent off to the closest store in Signarama network for installation.
I honestly could not tell you how many signs we have made or for how many locations, I have long lost count but I can tell you locations include not only Sydney, Brisbane & Canberra but towns as far away as Mount Isa & Broken Hill.
It has been quiet an undertaking when you look at the 10 years. It truly demonstrates the high level of customer service we provide and more importantly that our client, the Salvation Army now has consistent brand awareness, just like the golden arches.

Want to light up your business? How about some fabricated letters? Geniale Drummoyne just added these beauties to their shop front. Each letter has energy efficient LED's embed into it which is not only better for the environment but also saves them a fortune on their power bills. They are made from 30mm opal acrylic which gold anodised stainless faces creating a super modern look.
After working with Fox Studios Australia for many years on various signage projects, Signarama Surry Hills has just updated the main entry signage.
Our works included removing their old signage, designing their new pylon to meet brand guidelines and install. The signage is double sided to ensure traffic from both directions can see the sign, and know where they need to enter the building.
The new pylon sign, fabricated with a steel sub-frame, Aluminium outer frame and acrylic faces is illuminated with LED lighting inside to reduce running costs and increase brightness. We've also added 3D letters to the sign to give their logo and text extra dimension.
Whilst it's important that all signage creates impact - there isn't much better way to create impact like this than with a pylon! Make sure you check it out when you're in Moore Park next.
With limited notice in early January, it was announced that The Guardian would be going through a rebranding which involved not only new colours a new font and altered layout.
The existing Signage was mostly built into the joinery which raised issues given the timeline, however, we looked at alternate solutions where we could either cover signage with their new branding or remove signage and cover with panels to hide any damage.
Feel free to watch the time lapse to see how we've made their new brand come to life!
Standing on the corner of Maroubra and Malabar Rd's, Maroubra in Sydney's East is the long-standing Andrews Lawn Mowers. After many years with dated signage, it was time for a facelift with new Aluminium composite fascia signage produced and installed by Signarama Surry Hills.
With input from suppliers such as Victa, Husqvarna and Honda, it was critical to ensure the branding of these companies, as well as Andrew's, was easy to read and stand out.
Whilst ensuring the branding stood out at the busy intersection, we had to create signage that would stand out to passing traffic to tell customers that they do Sales, service and offer advice!
We have worked with Andrews Lawn Mowers for the past three years which includes us producing window signage and digital prints.
A comparison to the location before shows the impact that new signage can have on your business.
Whether you have many clients or few, lots of staff or little, your reception area is the one area that is a crucial area to ensure your signage is sending the right message and leaving a lasting impression.
One way to ensure your reception area is advertising your brand is to utilise custom created wallpaper or wall graphics. As per the image, we have just completed an installation for the Sydney Roosters NRL Team headquarters in Moore Park.
Not only does this wall graphic help strengthen their brand image, it has also been used to celebrate 100 years in the NRL as of 2018.
Signarama Surry Hills uses specific printing medias designed for walls to ensure your graphics look their best for the longest time possible.
What message do you need to send in 2018? Will a custom created wallpaper graphics help grow your business?
The Dog in Randwick has had a bit of signage facelift with the installation of two new LED Flashing lightboxes.
The purpose of these signs is to promote their VIP Lounge. The addition of flashing LED lights around the outside ensures passers-by can't miss these signs as they drive or walk past.
Lightboxes are a fantastic advertising tool - It allows you to display and promote your brand 24 hours a day. In a competitive industry such as the Hotel Industry, this can be the difference between a thriving hot spot, or not!
We custom fabricate our lightboxes to suit any situation and can make them to any shape & colour to suit your needs.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car (formerly Redspot Rentals) Is going through a rebrand and Signarama Surry Hills are producing and installing signage for this national rebrand project.
The project includes countless variables including locations in Airports, Offices, Rental Yards and Hotels. A variety of signage is being used such as lightboxes, Aluminium composite signs, vinyl graphics and large Banner skins as per the image.
The Lidcombe location has involved 2 banners stretched across the building totalling over 50m in length.
It is crucial with a premise of this scale to ensure the signage is large enough to stand out and help not only build the brand but ensure passers by can find the location. With this location being on Parramatta Rd, we think this stands out great!
Signarama Surry Hills have a reputation for being experts in rebranding projects. We are currently rolling out projects for The Salvation Army, RAMS Home Loans and have completed countless exercises in the past.

Signarama Surry Hills have recently completed a signage rebranding project for Sydney's Kings Comics.
To project included initial consultation on logo development and placement, through to liaising with Electricians to arrange power disconnect and re-connect. The signage was produced through using custom fabricated acrylic, illuminated using LED, installed on a steel frame.
Included with the project was the installation of 8 new back lit images of comic book cult heroes which add the finishing touch to make the shop POP and stand out from the crowd.
The above image shows the shop front before and the difference new signage has made. Store Owner, Christine's response was "We've had a great response to the signage! Thanks - you guys did a great job!"

Signarama Surry Hills has just completed a major interior signage package for an exciting new development in Waterloo! Part of Danks St in Waterloo will be undergoing a major change with the re-development of the ‘Art House‘ on the corner of Danks and Young Sts.
A combined project through SSRB Developers and Bresic Whitney saw the need for signage in their display suite for the apartments being offered for sale this week. Signarama Surry Hills was awarded the work to produce and install frosted prints on windows, print backed acrylic panels on walls, sample boards for unit selections, dimensional letters, wall graphics and A-frames. With a limited time frame of only 5 days, Signarama Surry Hills printed and produced over 50 metres of wide format digital printing, 8 large acrylic panels, 4 material sample boards and a laser cut acrylic logo.
As part of the process, we have recommended installation methods and materials to be used to ensure the project went smooth and on time & budget.

As part of the signage fitout for the new Tramshed at Harold Park we were asked to meet specifications by Mirvac to produce custom fabricated blade signs with digitally printed stitched fabric banners for both Fish & Co plus the new Bodega 1904 food & wine store.
Tramsheds is a place brought to life by history, architecture and community – a place to live and learn. Signarama Surry Hills was happy to add to the rustic look and feel by colour matching the powdercoated arms to the steel beams and provide a simple yet effective solution for shoppers and food enthusiasts with the supply and install of these neat little blade signs within a very tight turnaround. Signarama Surry Hills has recently completed a new office sign for United Voice‘s Surry Hills office after completing fit out works.
This project involved us supplying and installing cut to shape 3D aluminium letters, which were 2 pack painted to meet their corporate branding guidelines. Whilst the majority of our office sign installs are completed on flat surfaces, we have installed this office sign to a timber slat wall which creates a unique look and feel for the office partition.
Signarama Surry Hills has worked with United Voice on many projects, other than their office sign including flags printed in their lobby, pull up banners for events and their building signage installed in 2011. This gives United Voice an advantage to ensure all their branding and signage matches by using the one supplier. Signarama Surry Hills is currently in the process of manufacturing a second sign that is identical to another level in their office.
Signarama Surry Hills has worked with Prolet Constructions to produce new signs for their Drummoyne office. This included an update to their window graphics as well as a backlit reception sign in their entry lobby. Construction signs are a vital way to promote your company, improve safety, meet regulations and welcome clients and guests to your office.
After receiving a brief from the company regarding what signs they wanted, an example of our previously installed Legal Vision signage was used as a basis for the new signage to be produced. Consisting of laser cut acrylic backing panel, with laser cut acrylic letters through the face, warm white LED has been used in order to give the sign a halo effect, as well as illuminate the letters.
Feedback from the owner of the company was that “The signage looks great!’
